John Randall House policies for guests can be found here. Beginning in 2016, The John Randall House introduces a “no tipping” policy once you arrive. We have found that tipping is one of those things that vary among travelers and can be one of the most uncomfortable experiences. So to alleviate this dilemma we have added a 2.5% service charge to your room rate as a basic gratuity. This service fee will be passed on in full to our staff. We look forward to welcoming you with open arms.
Important Information For Our Guests
Here are a few things as a guest of The John Randall House you may find helpful:
We will gladly refund your deposit, minus a $35. service charge, as long as we receive cancellation notice at least fifteen (15) days prior to reservation date. After that period of time, a credit will be given on future reservations.
Unfortunately we do not allow pets but you can contact the Provincetown Pet Resort at 508-487-7900 if you are interested in boarding your pet.
Office Hours: Our business Office is located on the first floor next to our kitchen.
Office hours are usually from 9:00 am- 5:00 pm.
Your room key that will allow you access through our main front doors and to your individual room. Your room key does not open our back door nor does it open our Kitchen door once it is secured and locked nightly at 9:00 pm. Please return your room key either to our Business Office or place in our Key Box located on the first floor next to the inside front door upon your check out. There is a $10.00 lost key charge.
Check-out time is at 11:00 am. Should you need to store your luggage after check-out time, please feel free to put them in the Community room If you need additional or extend your check-out past this time please check with our Office prior to 11:00 am to make other arrangements.
From 8:30-11 am each morning in the Bistro, we offer an extended continental breakfast with fresh baked goods, bagels, English muffins, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, milk and juices. For those with special food requirements we are right across the street from 141 Market. The Market provides a wide variety of wheat-free, gluten-free (GF) and other foods designed for those with special dietary needs. In addition, their kitchen serves up unique and delectable vegetarian dishes every day at the hot bar. And their cold case is filled with delicious lunch and dinner entrees, sandwiches, soups and home-baked goods with an assortment of GF and vegan desserts.
Daily housekeeping cleaning service is available for all of our rooms until 1:00 pm. In order to assist our housekeeping staff please use your “Service Please” door sign indicating that your room is vacated and ready to be serviced. Rooms not vacated by 1:00 pm cannot be serviced for the day but fresh, clean towels can be provided upon request.
We have ample parking spaces available for our guests – one car for each room. Our parking area located next to the house off Bradford Street is used primarily for unloading and loading for arriving and departing guests and their luggage. We have a second parking area located behind the House off Center Street. Please make sure you receive and display our Parking Permit on your dashboard to identify your car. Cars parking in our back area should make sure that they do not block the driveway or park behind the condominiums in the restricted parking area.
Any unregistered cars may be removed and towed from our property. Please secure all of your personal valuables and belongings as The John Randall House shall not be responsible for the loss or damage to any property during your stay with us.
The John Randall House is a non-smoking establishment as dictated by town ordinance and statutes. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside our guesthouse. Smoking is allowed outside on the garden patio area. Guests who ignore or violate this and who smoke in our guest rooms will be charged a Service Charge of $100.00 for extra cleaning required and may be asked to leave and exit the premises.
Should you have a personal message called into our main business telephone line we will post your message immediately on our Bulletin Board located on the first floor near our kitchen. You should check there daily for any personal messages. We also post the daily/weekly weather report for Provincetown on our Bulletin Board.
Please turn off your air conditioning unit when leaving your room for the day. This will help us save on electrical expense.
Iron and Ironing Boards
We have both irons and ironing boards located on our second and third floors near the common bathroom. Some rooms are equipped with their own irons and ironing boards also. Please return to their location once you are finished so that our other guests may use.
Your Visiting Guests
We ask that you be responsible for any outside guest that you invite to The John Randall House during your stay with us. Your guest’s conduct must adhere to the same expectations we have for all our guests whether registered at The John Randall House or not. Please personally accompany and escort any outside guest you may have invited or brought to The John Randall House to the front door when they are leaving.
In order to be considerate of all guests we ask that you keep your television, music and as you come and go to and from the House as quietly as possible from 11:00 pm to 8:00 am.
FOR YOUR SAFETY …
Each guestroom is equipped with a smoke and a heat detector. These are connected to our main fire alarm system for the House. Should you here our fire alarm system sound an alarm please leave your room and find the closest fire exit. Fire exits are clearly marked for each floor in the House.
For our second and third floor guests, you should use our fire exits that open onto our fire escape that is on the backside of the House.
When our fire alarm system sounds or if there is a loss of electrical power we have an emergency lighting system that will automatically provide light on each of our guest floors.
